Has your stone surface lost its original color, polish, shine and
overall beauty? If youve been hesitant to self-clean your
natural stone surface in fear of damaging it by using the wrong
chemicals or equipment, youve come to the right place. Tonys
Best Way offers a full range of stone care services from deep
cleaning and sealing to honing, polishing, and complete stone
restoration. We also can strip surfaces of previous topical
coatings. Some stones even allow us to use color enhancing sealers
to bring out the beautiful colors inherently in your stone.
Stone Services
Deep Stone Cleaning
Excellent for all types of stones. We use a stone specific (not a
carpet cleaning machine as most other cleaners use) high powered,
top of the line cleaning machine. We couple our equipment with the
proper cleaning agents to remove ugly and otherwise impossible to
clean ground-in soils, stains, oils, rust, construction residue and
white mineral water stains from your stone and grout lines. As with
all of our cleaning services, we offer a risk free demonstration
that will make you a believer.
Stone Sealing
Quality sealers applied properly repel water and oils effectively,
keeping stone cleaner and easier to maintain. Our sealers will not
change your stones appearance in any way. We seal your stone
properly using the highest quality stone sealers made. (Not the
cheapest stuff found at home improvement stores that almost every
other stone cleaner uses.) We see improper sealers applied by other
cleaners all the time. These sealers can dull stone, and some will
need to be stripped off eventually, which is very expensive. Some
dense stones such as granite and polished marble will not even
absorb most sealers. Reasons like these are why you need a quality
cleaner like us who will properly match your stone with the
appropriate sealer.
Diamond Honing and Polishing
This procedure brings out all the potential of beauty in your stone
floor. Without any scratches or wear patterns, a polished floor or
countertop can be breathtaking. Running your hand along the
polished tile will feel smooth and clean. This combination service
will bring a like new appearance to your stone floor or
counter.
Diamond Polishing
During this process we use industrial diamonds to restore shine to
your stone floors and countertops. The shine or polish can be
matched to your taste from a matte polish to a high gloss, highly
reflective finish. Polishing closes the pores on stone, making your
floor more resilient. No product is topically applied to make your
stone shine; the shine is simply the polished surface of the stone
reflecting light. Polishing doesnt make your stone more
slippery. No airborne dust or major cleanup is created during the
polishing process. Polishing will also remove or reduce the
appearance of light scratches and wear.
Diamond Honing
This process uses rougher and bigger diamonds than are used in our
polishing process. Honing leaves a nice clean non-reflective
surface. The purpose of honing is to remove deep scratches, etch
marks, water stains, deep staining, traffic wear patterns,
weathered stone, spill spots and mineral buildup, The worse the
damage, the courser the diamond needed to remove damage. If you
prefer no reflective shine to your stone we apply a final honing
powder to close stone pores making your honed floor as resilient as
possible.
Lippage Removal
In some cases floors are uneven so we have to hone the floor flat
with very rough diamonds before standard honing and polishing. This
is a time consuming process but the result is a completely flat
floor. An uneven stone floor will always develop an uneven wear
pattern. This can cause damage and premature wear. Polishing alone
cannot restore uneven stones floors to a like new finish because
uneven flooring does not allow access for polishing machines to
reach all of the stones surface. An uneven floor can also be
very hard on the homeowner to maintain. As your uneven floor is
mopped, you may notice dirty water and soap getting trapped in its
uneven grout lines causing it to look dingy. Lippage removal will
eliminate this annoyance.
Color Enhancing
Sealer can be used on certain stones such as slate, granite and
others. The enhancer darkens the stone, giving it almost a wet
look. This can dramatically improve and beautify many different
types of stone. It is also a fantastic sealer in its own right;
repelling oils and water based spills.
Old Coating Stripping Service
We apply strong effective strippers to remove old topical coatings
or improperly applied sealers. We then power clean the stripper and
all other topical residues off the stone. At that point we will
balance the stones alkaline nature.
Flash Polishing of Granite and Sealing with Granite
Sealer:
We deep clean countertops and floors to remove mineral buildup and
old cleaning residues. This is most likely the reason your granite
has dulled over time. After cleaning, we flash polish to restore
factory shine. At that point we apply proper high quality granite
sealers to seal out water and most oil based stains. It is a
commonly believed that Granite does not stain, however this is not
true. Granite needs to be sealed just like every other type of
stone. After sealing, we will teach you how to properly maintain
your granite for the long term. We see great results all the time
from this service. It restores most granite to the state it was in
on the day you moved into your home.
Stone Crystallization Service
This maintenance polish for stone floors and counters will keep
your stone looking its best between heavy duty polishing.
Crystallization can hide and even remove small scratches.
Scheduling this service with us every six to twelve months keeps
your floor looking great and reduces the need for more extensive
polishing work.

Stone Cleaning Extended Information
Maintenance Tips for Marble, Travertine, Limestone and other stone
1. Vacuum regularly with proper hard floor attachment. This will
help to eliminate dust, grit and sand. These tiny particles act as
tiny abrasives that will scrape your floor and dull its shiny
surface.
2. Clean and mop with neutral non-acidic/non-alkaline cleansers or
plain water only. Acid or ammonia based cleansers will etch your
natural stone and remove its shine. Never use a shine in a
bottle type sealer. We recommend Stone Pros Crystal Clean
Daily Stone Cleanser.
3. Blot up all spills as soon as possible. Acidic spills are common
and will etch and dull your natural stone surface as well as leave
water marks. Coffee, pet accidents, ammonia, soda, vinegar
and toiletries are examples of spills, that if left to soak in, can
only be removed by polishing.
4. Place felt pads or sliders under furniture to prevent
scratches.
5. Do not allow any liquid to pool on your stone for any period of
time. Make sure planters and pet water bowels are placed on mats
and arent leaking.
6. Place doormats at all entrances to your stone surface and wear
socks or house slippers as often as possible.
7. Make sure the areas surrounding your natural stone surface (ie.
hardwood, carpet or outdoor surfaces) are always clean.
